Proper preventative care is key to maintaining optimal oral health. The office makes use of the latest technologies to ensure that small problems can be addressed before they turn in to big problems. We were one of the first dental offices in the Bay Area to use the DIAGNOdent.

Due to fluoridation, caries have gone "underground". While helping to improve the oral health of many Americans, fluoridation has resulted in harder tooth enamel. Incipient caries lesions that once began on the tooth's surface have now migrated below the surface.  The DIAGNOdent measures laser fluorescence within the tooth structure. As the incident laser light is propagated into the site, two-way handpiece optics allows the unit to simultaneously quantify the reflected laser light energy. At the specific wavelength that the DIAGNOdent laser operates, clean healthy tooth structure exhibits little or no fluorescence, resulting in very low scale readings on the display. However, carious tooth structure will exhibit fluorescence, proportionate to the degree of caries, resulting in elevated scale readings on the display.

We take pride in the quality of care we offer our patients. All our procedures meet or exceed OSHA and CDA safety standards. This extends to maintaining the highest standards of infection control and taking the steps necessary to keep our patients safe from bacterial cross-contamination. A partial list of what we do for our patients includes:

Sterilization of Instruments: We ultrasonic clean and then steam sterilize our instruments for every patient. The instruments are individually bagged and opened only at the time of treatment.

Working Surface Treatment: We use plastic coverings to protect the surfaces we touch when working with our patients, and discard those coverings after each patient. We use disposable supplies wherever we can because we find that to be the most effective means of preventing cross-contamination.

Water Line Treatment: Our water bottle-based dental units allow us to have full control over what runs through the water lines of our dental equipment. We use distilled water in delivery of patient care and utilize state of the art disinfection techniques to provide clean, clear water lines for each patient.

We are proud to take these extra steps for our patients' safety and comfort. Please ask us if you would like to know what else we do "behind the scenes" for our patients.

We are pleased to provide the latest in cosmetic dentistry tools and techniques for our patients who wish to achieve the smile of their dreams.
For example, we feature the Zoom! One Hour Whitening system that allows patients to dramatically whiten their teeth in a single visit. Instead of the minimum two-week regimen of daily in-home bleaching applications, the Zoom! system provides a quick and simple path to a dazzling smile.
